Our Story
Raising the standard of first aid training
Emergency Edge First Aid was created to replace checkbox certification with immersive, scenario-driven learning that genuinely prepares people for real emergencies.
We bring extensive experience in practical, hands-on, experiential learning in outdoor and high-risk environments—and apply those same principles across all our first aid training. From basic occupational first aid to professional responder programs, our courses are delivered with professional rigour, modern methods, and a focus on real-world readiness.
While we deliver the full spectrum of first aid training, wilderness and remote courses are our speciality. Our mobile-first model brings high-quality training to underserved communities throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Patchouli O’Donovan is a Canadian Red Cross–certified instructor with a BSc in Outdoor Education and Risk Management, bringing over a decade of experience in outdoor education, risk management, and social services across two continents.
After a workplace injury made previous roles unsustainable, she shifted her focus, returning to experiential, scenario-driven teaching grounded in confidence, competence, and real-world readiness.
Her goal is to improve the quality and accessibility of first aid training in Western Canada by replacing lecture-based courses, expanding access for rural communities, and establishing both a permanent training space and a mobile classroom to deliver high-quality, hands-on learning wherever it’s needed.
